KENEALLY RESERVE

Public BBQ

Tucked away on Keneally Street, this delightful reserve proves that sometimes the best family spots are the ones that don't try too hard. The moment you arrive, the freshly mown grass practically beckons you to kick off your shoes - which I promptly did, much to my children's embarrassment. The playground strikes that perfect balance between colourful fun and sensible safety, while shaded tables make it ridiculously easy to set up camp with the morning tea supplies. What sets this place apart is its natural abundance - meandering paths wind between mature trees, and there's a genuine creek gurgling away, providing that soothing soundtrack that makes you forget you're mere kilometres from Dandenong's bustle. The groundskeepers clearly take pride in their work; everything feels purposefully maintained without being overly manicured. It's the sort of spot where kids can properly explore while parents actually relax - a combination rarer than hen's teeth in suburban Melbourne.
